WSU Police responded to multiple elevator alarms at campus buildings on July 10-12, 2026, but determined no emergencies existed in the elevators.

On July 12, officers investigated alarms at 1302 NE Cougar Way (Global Scholar Elevator 2), 1345 NE Cougar Way (Smith Gym), and 710 SE Chinook Dr. (Chinook Village gas leak alarm). All were determined to be false alarms, with fire officials confirming no gas leak at Chinook Village. On July 11, four elevator alarms were reported at 1620 and 1624 NE Cougar Way, all resolved as false alarms.

No further action is required as these were non-emergencies. WSU Police continue to monitor campus security with routine patrols and responses to alarms.
