The Idaho women's soccer team defeated Washington State 3-0 on Wednesday evening at Lower Soccer Field, marking their first win against the Cougars since 1999. Three goals in the first 10 minutes set the tone for the victory, which came just hours after head coach Jeremy Clevenger welcomed his son, Beau, into the world.
Coach Clevenger said his team played with extra motivation to honor his new family addition. The win spoiled the debut of Washington State's new coach, Chris Citowicki, who previously coached Montana and had a 7-2-2 record against Clevenger in their past matchups.
