Hounds grind out comeback win over Bantams — Sat, 26 Sep 2026 07:20:00 GMT
PULLMAN — Clarkston quarterback Kendry Gimlin reached the top of his drop and looked left, to his running back in the flat. Greyhound defenders watching his eyes inched forward, and Gimlin shifted his eyes down the sideline and threw a strike to his receiver for the score to put his team up two touchdowns midway through the second quarter. Pullman coach Kevin Agnew said the fast Clarkston start shocked his guys. But after that moment, the Greyhounds woke up and scored 23 unanswered points to get the 23-12 win over their 2A Greater Spokane League rival Friday night at Hobbs Field. Clarkston’s two scores came in the first and second quarters on a 13-yard run from Niko AhHi and a 27-yard pass from Gimlin to Ethan White. Third quarter of opportunity Pullman’s Joshua Ratliff punched in a 4-yard score before halftime to cut the Bantams’ lead to five. Pullman (4-0, 1-0) got the ball after halftime, but on the first offensive play, a Ratliff fumble gave Clarkston the ball on Pullman’s 34-yard line. Another Pullman turnover on the ensuing offensive possession gave Clarkston another short field. A pair of Gimlin passes set Clarkston up at the Pullman 12-yard line. But a Gimlin sack pushed the Bantams back far enough to have to punt. Pullman went three-and-out to and gave the ball right back to

Cougars vs. Cats: Wazzu welcomes Fifita, Arizona back to Pullman for the first time since 2023 — Sat, 26 Sep 2026 07:15:00 GMT
In the transactional age of college athletics, University of Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita has been a beacon of loyalty. Through the departure of his head coach Jedd Fisch for Washington after his redshirt freshman season, Fifita stayed in Tucson, Ariz. Through a 4-8 season under first-year coach Brent Brennan, Fifita stayed. And, back for his 38th career start in the site of his first career win — Gesa Field in Pullman — Fifita arrives on the Palouse having cemented his name into the Wildcat record books. Last Saturday, in a 42-17 rout of Northern Illinois, Fifita surpassed Nick Foles’ Arizona career passing yards record, turning in a 325-yard performance to raise his career total to 10,017. First-year Washington State coach Kirby Moore and the Cougs welcome Fifita and the Arizona Wildcats to Gesa Field for a 4:30 p.m. clash today on CBS. Scouting the Wildcats The Cougs have won five of the last seven meetings dating back to 2015. But in their last meeting as Pac-12 foes in 2023, Fifita, then a redshirt freshman starting the majority of Arizona’s games, passed for more than 340 yards in a 44-6 takedown of the Cougs in Pullman. Both rosters have changed and changed again — and changed again — since that day, but the Big 12 Wildcats are the favorites on paper over the revamped Pac-12 Cougs. Arizona (2-1) has beaten Northern Arizona and Northern Illinois at home and lost a 28-17 game at No. 9 BYU in between those wins. Fifita has completed 77-of-95 passes for 834 yards with s
