Whitman County has released the final Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) document, which outlines strategies to protect residents and property from wildfire threats. The plan was developed with public input through virtual meetings held earlier this year.
The county's Emergency Management Department, responsible for disaster preparedness, hosted two virtual public meetings to discuss the draft CWPP. Recordings of these meetings are available online for residents to review, along with supporting documents including the final CWPP and a presentation from the meetings.
The Whitman County Department of Emergency Management emphasizes that its mission is to protect people, property, and the environment through readiness to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters.
