Washington State University announced it is reassigning its football sidelines, moving the home team's sideline to the south side of the stadium beneath the press box and adjacent to the team’s locker room. Visiting teams will now use the south sideline directly in front of the student section.
WSU head coach Kirby Moore stated, 'This is about creating the best home-field advantage,' adding that the student section will be behind the visiting team to create a more energetic atmosphere. The Pac-12 Conference compliance manual warns against disruptive behavior like throwing objects at opposing players.
The change will take effect for the upcoming season and is intended to enhance the game-day experience for fans and players. WSU will be expected to maintain crowd control to prevent disruptive behavior as outlined in Pac-12 policies.
